Position overview The Aerosol Lab at the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, has two postdoctoral positions open. The group is led by Prof. Jingkun Jiang. Our research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying aerosol formation, growth and transformation, with applications in areas such as air quality management, climate change, public health. We offer a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive group environment. The group is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for gas and particle measurements, e.g. particle size distributions covering 1 nm to 10 μm, size-resolved chemical compositions of ultrafine particles, and advanced mass spectrometers such as CI-Orbitrap, Vocus-PTR-ToF, and FIGAERO-I-CIMS. The available positions are: 1. Using mass spectrometers for exploring key atmospheric species contributing to the growth of newly formed particles; 2. Analyzing measurement data and performing model simulations using advanced AI tools; investigating the physical and chemical properties of ultrafine particles in diverse environments. The initial appointment is for two years, with the expectation of renewal contingent on satisfactory performance. Key responsibilities 1. Operate the measurement techniques and conduct data analysis; 2. Support graduate students and coordinate collaborative projects; 3. Full-time employment is required. Qualifications 1. Ph.D. in Atmospheric Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or related fields. 2. Experience with aerosol instrumentation, mass spectrometry, atmospheric chemistry, field measurements, laboratory experiments, data analysis.
